Numerous are cities and towns that celebrate all kinds of activities and celebrations in a big way to start the New year. There are many options to make this celebration an unforgettable experience, but at the moment we suggest some of the most interesting options on public places of Slovenia’s beloved towns and cities!

Undoubtedly the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, dresses up to end the year and the central squares of the city where people will come down in torrents, to the center square in search of their share of the experience. The fireworks from the castle of the city will be "the icing on the cake" to make this night a real fairy tale.

If you decide to spend the last night of the year in Maribor you will be participating in one of the longest traditions of the country. Celje and Kranj also offer a wide range of possibilities.

Don’t think that these are the only options! What do you think about spending it on the coast? If the idea seems appealing to you, Koper or Piran can be your best choice.

Kranjska Gora or Bovec are characterized by putting a veil of snow over the mountains that will make the night pure magic. Do not forget to go to Bovec Outdoor Film Festival (BOFF) during the month of December.

And without a doubt, the "cherry on top" is in Bled where each year two different types of new year celebrations take place: One for children during the afternoon and then the traditional midnight celebration with fireworks over Lake Bled.
