“When team communication skills are strong, it raises the chance that good ideas and best practices will be shared” claims Lin Grensing-Pophal, author of "Employee Management for Small Business."
BIG BERRY Mastermind hosted Tamara Valenčič Her career spreads from government office worker to Chamber of Commerce, via telco and international corporation. She is currently working as a Management and communications expert. Furthermore, BIG BERRY’s guest was awarded regional ProPR Award and HR Manager of the year in Slovenia.
During her interesting lecture, Tamara shared some concrete ideas about self-management, career planning process, and crisis communication.
Team communication skills are crucial for ensuring the success of a team. Good team communication skills can entice creativity, strengthen team relations and encourage sharing of new concepts and ideas.
Businesses usually ask employees to carry out a project that requires teamwork. Working in a team environment has many benefits, including a sense of group accomplishment and responsibilities assignment. Effective communication and cooperation can reduce stress, especially to workers responsible for numerous tasks. Businesses should work on development of employees’ communication skills.
During the Mastermind lecture, Mrs Valenčič tried to update the Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Maslow used the terms "physiological", "safety", "belonging" and "love", "esteem", "self-actualization", and "self-transcendence" to describe the pattern that human motivations generally move through. Tamara suggested that stages of growth changed. “The leadership will lead to change, nowadays approaches are different, corporate control needs to change, the new generation needs more flexibility”, she added.
Morever, she explained how to act when it comes to crisis communication. She introduced a lecture about leadership and productivity in a team, sharing some ideas on team management.
As a summary, different team members contribute to the overall results, but the individual creativity and effectiveness may vary. Team members need to communicate among one another in order to build strong relationship and to work effectively.
